Responsibilities:

These positions are deployable positions with extensive travel throughout the U.S.

Over a 12 month period days deployed is some 220 - 240 days on average and will be required to work 6 days a week, 12 hours a day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and settles auto catastrophe, weather and disaster claims in an assigned area to include verification of coverage, and extent of damage to persons and property, which may require contact by telephone, correspondence, or in-person
  • Responds to claim events that require a deployed response
  • Utilizes automated estimating systems to prepare repair estimates reflecting vehicle damage, identifies reparability issues that may result in a potential total loss claim and completes documentation on vehicle options, condition, mileage, and other factors
  • Evaluates bids and engages with non-program repair facilities to support claim resolution
Items of Note
  • Position requires extensive overnight travel via commercial transportation and/or driving motor vehicles as provided by the Company to any location where the Company does business
  • May work outside domicile location for extended periods of time
  • Position requires periodic work assignments as a fire proximity deployment assignment claim specialist. Incumbent must be able to:
    • Inspect Property and Casualty claims, which could include obtaining the measurements of the roof and living areas, the inspection of attics, basements, crawl spaces and other claim locations as applicable, as well as walking, climbing, bending, reaching, stooping, crawling, and lifting objects in the performance of inspections
    • Lift, carry, unfold, and climb a ladder and utilize appropriate equipment in accordance with safety guidelines to traverse roofs at various heights for inspection of both residential and commercial structures, as well as vehicles to gather information needed during the adjustment of a claim
  • May work in adverse weather conditions and challenging physical environments
  • Must maintain a valid license to lawfully operate vehicles as directed/requested by State Farm
  • Fulfills state licensing and continuing education requirements, as applicable
  • Completes Claim School, required policy testing, computer-based training, and core courses
  • May be required to work additional hours, overtime hours, or non-standard hours, including varying work shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on workload and as the operation dictates
Location: These positions are deployable positions with extensive travel throughout the U.S. Relocation does not apply, however to match location with historical weather demand, candidates should live in or be willing to relocate to AL, AR, CO, North-FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, NC, NE, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WI and WV. Relocation may be necessary for legal or business reasons in the future.

Deployment: This position is a mobile worker/deployable position with extensive travel throughout the U.S.

Salary Range: $50,999.65 - $92,992.25.

Qualifications:

Skills/Experience: While Auto Weather and Catastrophe Claims experience is preferred, other factors for consideration may include role/segment experience, job performance, and current office location.


Hours of Operation:
AWC Deployed Claim Specialists will typically work hours that vary by week and could include weekends & holidays and travel to any location State Farm does business with minimal notice.
